Kiosk test automation

Test the kiosk like a customer, across the whole fleet.

Every campaign changes the kiosk: new products, new prices, new meals. Cornac Driver automates self-ordering kiosk testing: it taps the screen, builds the order, reads what is displayed and checks it against what was planned. A check that took a day by hand replays on every release.

What the bot checks on screen

Displayed prices

À la carte and in meals, item by item, against the price the campaign planned.

Campaign products

Present, selectable, in the right place in the flow, with the right picture and the right label.

Ordering flows

Meal, size, sides, extras: every step a real customer takes, all the way to the basket.

What the API can't see

Allergens, notices, intermediate screens: what only lives on the display can only be tested on the display.

How it works

01

Map

The bot reads the elements of the kiosk screen without installing anything: it drives the kiosk from a dedicated station, over the network.

02

Write the scenario

A flow is described once, in a file the business can read. Scenarios are grouped into test sets per campaign.

03

Run

A test set starts with one click. Every step is traced, with a screenshot taken at the moment of the check.

04

Report

One report per scenario and one consolidated report. A difference becomes a ticket in your tracker, with the evidence attached.

Three rules we don't negotiate

Nothing on the kiosk

No source code, no development tools on production equipment. The bot runs alongside.

An honest verdict

A test that could not run is not a failed test. The report tells them apart, or nobody reads it any more.

Screen and POS together

The kiosk is compared with the POS configuration read by Cornac Studio: you know whether a difference comes from the display or the data.

On a first fleet

20+restaurants with kiosks
756menu items checked
25,704comparisons in one minute
~71 hthe same check by hand

Kiosk test automation: questions

Which self-ordering kiosks can Cornac test?
Kiosks whose interface is a web application, which covers most recent quick-service equipment. Driving goes through the display, so it doesn't depend on the kiosk brand.
Do we need to install software on the kiosk?
No. The bot runs on a dedicated station and drives the kiosk over the local network. Nothing is deployed on production equipment.
How is this different from a flow recorder?
A recorded flow says what happened, not what was expected. Every Cornac scenario carries its own assertions: the planned price, the planned product, the planned screen.
How long does it take to test a new campaign?
A campaign's scenarios replay in a few minutes per kiosk. A day of manual checking becomes a report to read.
Does Cornac test the POS too?
Yes: Cornac Studio reads the POS configuration and compares every location against the others. Kiosk and POS are checked in the same chain.
